Admissions Requirements

To be considered for admission to the online MS program or graduate certificate program, you must have:

  • An undergraduate degree; graduate coursework or a graduate degree is preferred
  • A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) overall, as well as in the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework (MS Only)
  • A cumulative graduate GPA of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale), if graduate coursework has been completed (MS Only)
  • A strong commitment to the field of patient safety and an interest in improving the quality of healthcare

All applicants will be required to submit:

  • An online UIC graduate application and application fee
  • Your unofficial transcripts (MS) or proof of degree (graduate certificate)
  • Your personal statement
  • A current resume or curriculum vitae

Applicants to the MS program must also submit:

  • Two letters of recommendation

International applicants or those who have taken international coursework must also submit:

  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • An international credential evaluation fee (MS Only)
